Field Fastener is one of the 2016 Best Workplaces in Manufacturing and Production, according to the global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work and Fortune Magazine. This is the second year in a row that Field has made the list.

2016 Best Workplaces

Field ranked No. 5 on the list, a ranking based on employees’ own assessments of the trust they feel toward Field’s leaders, the pride they take in their jobs, and the camaraderie they experience with coworkers. The Best Workplaces in Manufacturing and Production as a group stand out for fair profit sharing, giving employees a measure of job security, and low turnover. These workplaces as a collective group have a turnover average of 7.2%, about half the national industry average of 13%.

“The leading manufacturing and production companies know the game has changed,” says Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “The best workplaces in the industry know they can’t just churn out their products with warm bodies. They need to focus on attracting and retaining top talent by putting people first, in a high-trust culture. That’s how they are winning in the market.”

Field was selected based on evaluations by over 34,900 randomly selected employees from companies in the manufacturing and production sector. Employees anonymously answered 58 questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace. Companies achieving the highest overall results in their size categories were ranked based on this data.

“Manufacturing and production is critical to the overall health of the US economy and the entire Field Team is honored to receive this recognition for the second year in a row” states Field President, Jim Derry. “Our Team is committed to our shared mission and values. This award provides additional validation that our team has created a culture that is unique, enjoyable, and effective.  Participating in the GPTW process has provided valuable feedback and insights that have helped our company improve.  As we grow, Field will continue to challenge our Team to improve our support of the manufacturing and production markets in America.”

The Best Workplaces in Manufacturing and Production ranking is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based upon employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work certified organizations.

Field was also named by Great Place to Work® as one of the best small and medium workplaces in the United States on their annual 2015 Best Small & Medium Workplaces list, published by Fortune magazine. Ranked #8 on the list, it was Field’s first time receiving the honor.
